Homecoming Parade...not our home school but there was free candy!

While picking up kids at school the other day, yes I am now also moonlighting as the school bus driver, I noticed on the sign that they were having a homecoming parade that night.
It had been raining non-stop but I decided that it would be something Kaden would enjoy.
We ran a bunch of errands after school and arrived just in time. We even managed to get a front row spot.
We got a few sprinkles at the beginning, notice the umbrella, but it cleared off just enough to allow for some parade grandeur!
Dancing in the Rain
Self portraits
Yeah band!
Kaden quickly picked up on the fact that the name of the game was CANDY!
Jumping on a missed piece!
There was one girl who had to skip us to keep up with her group. Kaden brought up several times that the girl with the purple bucket skipped him!
Checking out his loot!
A watery float!
You will never guess what he chose to eat first....Gummy fish!
What a fun Kaden and Mommy Night!

Party Like It's My Birthday!

I have officially entered the final year of my 20's!
It is hard to believe, but always better than the alternative.
No, I am not upset about it. This is the dainty knife they gave me to cut my cake!
The Snead Family showing their birthday spirit.
The cooper's Natalie, Mark, Delaney and Little Baby Tyler!
He made his appearance a few days later!

Amanda and Allison full of yummy queso!
The kiddo table! They were so kind to split up when our table couldn't fit everyone!
My two yummy cakes!
Kaden enjoying some "schokolate!"

Thanks to all my friends and family who helped me celebrate my birthday!
I felt really special to have so many there!

Butterfly Festival!

For the last few years I have wanted to check out the butterfly festival in Southlake. Something has always come up but this year we finally made it!
I talked Kaden into it by telling him he could look for butterflies just like Diego!
Strangely though he wasn't nearly as tough as Diego. This was as close as he got the whole time!
Issy with a pretty butterfly on a stick
Landon seemed impressed.....
These handy catchers were equipped with watermelon pieces to entice the butterflies
Notice no butterflies...he was terrified....
Madison was brave as can be!
Trying to "hunt" with Daddy
She even wanted one on her nose when she saw another girl do it on a poster....
They rubbed it with watermelon to make it want to stay on...
Notice the look of terror at the thought of the delicate butterfly touching him
Butterfly hair-clip
Finally one that he would touch. We waited for about 30 minutes to get this lovely balloon butterfly...
We got them in the same picture amazingly enough

Afterwards we went to Coal Vines. The food was awesome but about halfway through our dinner it started pouring. We were on the porch and the covers did little to protect us. We got wetter and colder as the meal progressed. It was an interesting evening!
The butterfly festival was over-priced but still pretty cool!

Scooter Tooter!

We had a little Labor Day/birthday celebration with the Alban's, Burchett's and Collins!
Caroline's brother mistakenly left his scooter in our possession. :)
We all took it for a little spin and it was quite fun!

Here is Dustin looking super cool in the too small helmet...
Here is my little scooter tooter in the too big helmet!
Don't worry it was only a short trip.
His Daddy took it easy....or at least he better have!

Kaden loved every second!!!

How to be Tom Sawyer: Lesson 1

Kaden decided that he simply had to help us choose our new paint color.
After 4 years of "himming and hahing", we were finally motivated to paint our own, after doing Allison's!
Daddy showing Kaden the correct technique
He is a natural..never mind the mysterious guiding hand
You can sense the concentration. BTW, he is only wearing the pull up because it was almost bed time! He is in undies all the time other than that!

HMMM....which do you think we chose? New pics of finished product coming soon hopefully!
We painted all day on Labor Day, it looks good. Now we just need to get the rest of the accessories up!

Isser is 30! Party on the Real Day!

Here is my beautiful Sister! She finally hit the Big 3-0!
Way before me, of course!
Me, Kaden and Vanessa ready to party. Notice we all wore pink in honor of Isser!
