Tick-e Tick-e is Ouchie Ouchie!

Is there anything cuter than a 15 month old trying to tickle you? This is Kaden's latest trick. He thinks it is hillarious...the only problem is it is really just scratching....on my neck mostly..sometimes my arms. I laugh until tears roll but it's because I am seriously in pain. How can something so small be so sharp and piercing? It is like a little porcupine running aorun dyour body. Still it is so cute to see his little mouth say "tickle, tickle". A fingernail trim is definetly coming tonight but I swear those little boogers grow at warp speed! I have being psyching myself up all day to tackle, pin and trim. Kaden loves it...seriously...ok hates it.... with a passion, almost as much as nose wiping! I find it works best to pin one arm under mine and quickly trim the other. I will admit that he may have been nipped a few times...... this may be leading to his being gun shy of the clippers...hmmm.. The thing is he waits until I get the transparent sliver within the teeth of the clippers and then he jerks...silly boy! Par tof my problem is also that the nails seem to grow at different rates, not always needing to be cut at the same time. this is what has thrown me into the cycle where they seemingly always need to be cut...AH!

My other option is let Daddy teach him nail care. It requires 2 pieces of equipment....your nails and your teeth. Chew them til it hurts...wala!

Then there is the Sissy and Uncle Mark approach. Pay someone else to do it..often. that's right Mark is a prissy puppy..... ;) well since all his monetary needs currently come from my budget he isn't doing this one either! If anyoen is getting a mani pedi...it' s me!

Maybe he should be paying me hmmm that would b ean interesting blog to see what it would cost to live like a baby....I will get back to you on this.

anyway, I will let you know how it goes.

Speaking of trimming...I have trimmed off another 1.5 pounds...slow and steady wins the race right?

1 is the loneliest number!

Well this past weekend we went to San Antonio with Jon's debate group. the 8 hour ride down was a bit rough with a 1 5month old and a 2 1/2 year old but we made it. We did stop at McD's to allow for some play time. I did order a salad but had a few fries. Hey an hour of screaming makes you need fries! Stinkin' Austin traffic....stay weird..how about Austin..push your gas pedal! a slight wrong turn sent us 16 miles south of San Antonio....stinkin' loops! Arrival time at hotel 10:00....2 hours past bed time! Saturday morning we took the boys (Kaden and Jordan..the son of Eric, Jon's other coach) to the drive through safari. Pretty sweet...nothing like hand feeding a baby antelope. Could have done without the emu attacks though! Afterwards we saw Jennifer and James' sweet baby girl Addison..too cute! Then Aunt Sissy forced us to eat Mexican..we were in San Antonio...is there another choice? After chips/ salsa, enchiladas and a nap we went to visit the Daddy's. In hind sight I should have run around the cafeteria as much as the boys but of course didn't. We then attempted Chuckie Cheese. This place is not nearly as fun as I remembered...there is still the creepy robotic mouse but the rides are now just boring arcade games...the boys were not terribly impressed so we only stay about 10 minutes. We grabbed some La Madeline pizza and headed back to the hotel where we met up with the group to go to Outback for one of the team members b-days. That's right I officially became the mom who takes her kid out to dinner at 9:30. We didn't have steak of course...just dessert..oops....Kaden got in bed for the 2nd in a row at 10:30...meg and I groggily played slaps in the hall while we waited for him to go to sleep. As soon as Jon arrived about 20 minutes later we crashed! Meg had the pleasure of sleeping on a roll away that she compared to the comfort level of a table top...hmmm...she almost had to sleep with us in the king size because a basketball team had procured all the roll aways....luckily after some stalking out we managed to wrangle one up.....We left Sunday morning about 9:30...God Blessed us and Kaden slept all the way to Waco...Hallelujah! We stopped for some Fazoli's and a visit with the Hart family.. oh and maybe a white chocolate..yum! (for those of you not familiar with Waco..you must stop through sometime and try the white chocolate from Common Grounds...no coffee involved but fab none the less) The trip back home was fairly uneventful and was followed quickly by naps all around! It was an exhausting and fun weekend but add in the homemade chocolate chip cookies compliments of Melynda and you will understand the title of this blog...

Biggest Loser!

Well it is officially the New Year…ok, like two weeks ago but I am a little behind. Not only is this a time of renewal and change but it is also a time to step on the scale. It is time to face the fact that the extra weight is no longer “pregnancy weight”. The kid’s a year old and people are no longer buying it…sad times.. This means that it is time to whip by butt into shape. Jon and I started out great last year, we each lost 40 and 25 pounds respectively but then life got in the way. The stress of unemployment proved to be too much and my body quickly found it’s 25 pounds. Apparently I am not a good hidder?? Anyway I figure I will use this blog to motivate me to keep on track. I have been doing pretty good but I thought if I was posting my progress on my blog it might inspire me to stick with it more…… so on Wednesday’s, my official weigh day, I will give you an update. Now I will not be sharing my start weight because frankly it is crazy embarrassing! Let’s just say that in shear weight…. I could kick most of the female American Gladiators butts…….

sad but true~
I have been doing some form of exercise most days. This Weekend, I did not so good…unless watching people walk in a parade counts? I have done my walk fit video 2 days..(most of the 1.5 miles while holding a 25 pound baby so I figure it counts for 2 miles!) and gone to the gym one day. I have had to start slow as my right hip has not quite recovered from the 20 hour car ride back from Colorado. I am going walking during my lunch hour today and hitting the gym tomorrow during lunch. Luckily my friend Lauren, that I work with, is a member at the same gym so we can go together. Strength in numbers!

I am not looking to be a super model, I just want to weigh less than the average player on a high school football team. Any encouraging thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a very motivating pic from Christmas.....

Anyway I did my official weigh in last Wednesday, we will see if I made any progress in the morning.

15 months...and growing!

IT is hard to believe that our little munchkin is 15 months old. I was thinking that including the 9 months "inside" We have had this little guy for 2 full years. Here is a special picture my father-in-law put together.....it is truly amazing what a difference a year can make!

Here are a few other changes we have noticed ...............

-4 months (that's 5 months "inside")
Lots of kicking, moving and jumping
15 months
Ditto!

Mommy tries to offer him other things but frankly... he is not interested. Most meals consist of a few bites of one or two of the above items......FRUSTRATING!

Mommy says "Please eat!"
